What if women’s names had also been carved in stone? A mecca of classical music in Geneva, Victoria Hall pays tribute to great composers… exclusively male. On the emblematic façade, women’s names are conspicuous by their absence—their only evocation: a naked allegory of Harmony.

Yet there is no shortage of female composers contemporary to these celebrated masters. For one evening, the Les Inoubliables festival and the City of Geneva are joining forces to reveal to the general public some of the key figures in a musical heritage that has been overshadowed for too long.

Thanks to a mapping designed by Geneva artist Sophie Le Meillour, the names of female composers will illuminate the façade of Victoria Hall. At the same time, historical presentations by Amelia Feuer, as well as a unique mini-concert by harpist Laudine Dard, will allow visitors to discover the careers and works of these artists who have remained in the shadows for too long.
