VICTORIA HALL

Stage design and live visual for Les Concerts du dimanche the city of Geneva presents FanfareduLoup (jazz music) and the Ensemble Variante (classical music) at the Victoria Hall – Geneva – 19.01.2025

The project

Adaptation of Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky

At the sight of an exhibition in homage to his friend Viktor Hartmann who had passed away a few months earlier, Mussorgsky exclaimed: “sounds and ideas are suspended in the air, I am absorbing them and it is all overflowing, and I can barely scribble on paper”. Initially, visual impressions inspired the music. The logic is reversed here: it is the piece arranged for the FanfareduLoup and the Ensemble Variante that will inspire the artist Sophie Le Meillour to create the visual design for this new version of the famous Pictures.
